Community Spotlight

Safety, Healing, Hope

Rivermark is a proud community partner of the Portland nonprofit Bradley Angle. Incorporated in 1975, Bradley Angle became one of the first women’s emergency shelters in the country and the first on the West Coast.

The name honors two women — Sharon Bradley and Pam Angle —who died while enduring life on Portland streets, and was founded by women whothemselves needed safety and support.

Bradley Angle has grown to help underserved survivors of allgenders escape domestic violence and rebuild safe and prosperous lives by offeringsafety, education, empowerment, healing, and hope.

Rivermark + Bradley Angle

Our relationship began in 2020, when the organization approached Rivermark about providing accounts for their match savings program. With invaluable feedback from Bradley Angle, weultimately reshaped our membership application process, with particularattention to the safety and security aspects to ensure the confidentiality of survivorsof domestic violence.

In 2023, Rivermark began sponsoringthe annual Bradley Angle Gala fundraiser. And in 2025, we signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize our partnership in Bradley Angle’s economic empowerment program. Today, Rivermark is a proud sponsor of their POWER (Plan, Organize, Work, Educate, Rise) Program, including a $15,000 grant to provide individualized financial coaching for program participants. POWER kicks offits initial cohort in January 2026.

Additionally, Bradley Angle is represented on Rivermark's Community Advisory Committee, which advises our Senior Executive Team and Board of Directors on the financial needs and barriers faced by Rivermark’s community partners and low-income populations.

Partnerships like this are integral to Rivermark’s mission, as we support, foster, and give back to the communities we serve. We couldn’t be prouder to help offer every survivor ofdomestic violence a chance at safety and prosperity. Because community mattershere.
