Credit Unions Are Different From Other Financial Institutions

Rivermark Community Credit Union is an Oregon-based, not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by the people who save and borrow here – our members. We do not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to our members in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits and lower fees.

Each credit union member has equal ownership and one vote, regardless of how much money a member has on deposit. Credit unions are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected by and from the credit union’s membership.

We've Been Serving Our Community Since 1951

Rivermark was founded in February 1951 by 140 grocery store employees who formed Safeway Portland Employees Federal Credit Union. In 2004, the credit union was approved for a community charter and changed its name to Rivermark Community Credit Union.

More than 70 years later, Rivermark serves over 88,000 members who live or work in Oregon and Washington

Credit unions exist to help people. This philosophy is evident in the many community activities and worthwhile causes that the Credit Union and our employees are involved in. Every year we contribute volunteer time and money to a variety of community outreach and philanthropic programs in our field of membership.   

Benefits Summary

Incentive Plan

Rivermark’s incentive plan provides discretionary rewards to employees for their contributions. Payouts are based on achievement of specific quarterly performance goals.

401(k) Plan Match

Employees are eligible contribute to a 401(k) following 90 days of employment. After one year, employees are eligible to receive an employer matching contribution up to 4% of eligible compensation.

401(k) Profit Share

After your first year, Rivermark contributes an annual discretionary profit share of up to 4% of eligible compensation to each employee’s 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan.

Medical Insurance

Rivermark employees enjoy 100% employer paid medical coverage after 30 days of employment.

Dental Insurance

Rivermark employees enjoy 100% employer paid dental coverage after 30 days of employment.

Flexible Spending Account

Set aside pre-tax money to pay for qualified health care or dependent care expenses.

Paid Time Off

Paid time off may be used for all personal time off. Rivermark celebrates 9 paid holidays, plus two floating holidays per year.

Volunteer Time Off

Rivermark provides 16 hours of paid VTO to employees to perform volunteer work at any non-profit organization each year.

Life & Disability Insurance

Rivermark pays for basic life, AD&D, Long-Term Disability and Short-Term Disability insurance at no cost to employees.

Employee Assistance Program

Our Employee Assistance Program is a confidential service that helps employees and immediate family members address and manage a variety of personal issues.

Educational Assistance

We understand the importance of continuing education, so we provide financial assistance to employees who wish to further their education by completing undergraduate or advanced degrees.
