Why We're Unique

1. Credit Unions Are Different From Other Financial Institutions

Rivermark Community Credit Union is an Oregon-based, not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by the people who save and borrow here – our members. We do not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to our members in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits and lower fees.

Each credit union member has equal ownership and one vote, regardless of how much money a member has on deposit. Credit unions are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected by and from the credit union’s membership.

2. We've Been Serving Our Communities for Over 65 Years

In February 1951, 58 Safeway store employees listened to a presentation about the advantages of credit unions. We have evolved from first serving only Safeway employees and their families to our current community charter, adopted in 2004.

More than 65 years later, the credit union they formed is still going strong and now serves over 89,000 members.

3. We're Passionate

Rivermark Community Credit Union encourages our employees to be involved in the Credit Union and our community. Employee committees such as Community Affairs, Employee Recognition and Wellness provide opportunities for our employees to demonstrate that they truly care and are passionate about who we are and what we do!

4. We Are People Helping People

Credit unions exist to help people. This philosophy is evident in the many community activities and worthwhile causes that the Credit Union and our employees are involved in. Every year we contribute volunteer time and money to a variety of community outreach and philanthropic programs in our field of membership.

Employee Benefits

Your compensation package at Rivermark includes a rich base salary that attracts and retains top talent.

After one year of service, Rivermark employees have the opportunity to receive employer contributions of up to 6%, including a profit share contribution equal to 2% of your gross eligible earnings and a Credit Union match of any 401(k) contributions you may make, dollar for dollar, up to your first 4%.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Rivermark recognizes the significant impact that may be realized by utilizing these tax-advantaged spending accounts. Set aside money from your pay on a pre-tax basis and use those funds to reimburse yourself for eligible health and dependent care expenses.
