Rivermark Community Credit Union announced that it has been certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of Treasury. CDFIs are mission driven organizations that focus on serving low-income and underserved communities. Rivermark joins 1,300+ financial institutions nationwide, and just 10 Oregon based credit unions to achieve this certification.
Rivermark recently hit a huge milestone . . . 1 million video teller transactions! In September, we celebrated this milestone by giving away $100 at random to members using our video teller machines. Thank you to our members for embracing the video teller technology that allows Rivermark to lead in access and convenience.
Recently, there were changes made to the child tax credit that will benefit many taxpayers. The IRS will pay half the credit in the form of advance monthly payments beginning July 15. Taxpayers will then claim the other half when they file their 2021 income tax return. Please remember to consult your tax advisor to see how these changes may impact your personal financial situation.
We are excited to announce that the members of Lighthouse Community Credit Union voted by an overwhelming majority to merge with Rivermark Community Credit Union. The vote was the final step for merger approval, having already been approved by state and federal regulators and both credit union’s boards of directors. To accommodate system upgrades, all Rivermark branches will be closed on Saturday, July 31.
