Promoting Saving in Local Schools

School SaversAs students are counting down the days until summer break, their good savings' habits from the past school year are supporting their schools. This year Rivermark donated $895 to Scholls Heights Elementary School as part of the School Savers program. For every child who opens a new savings account over the course of the year, Rivermark donates $25 to that child's school. Then Rivermark matches up to $5 of each child’s deposit on scheduled deposit days throughout the school year.

The School Savers Program was developed to teach kids how to deposit money into a savings account and to help encourage them to keep saving. Kids are rewarded for their progress by receiving a special prize once they reach 10 deposits.

The program was started in 2011/12 following the opening of the Progress Ridge branch in Beaverton. Over the past 5 years, this unique elementary school partnership has helped raise nearly $10,000 for these local schools.
