Apple Pay is now available for Rivermark members. This exciting new service allows members with an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to make fast, secure payments with the touch of a finger. This new form of payment offers our members a convenient, touchless way to pay.
How does Apple Pay work?
Simply add your Rivermark Visa or debit card to Passbook. Once set up, the number on the front of your Rivermark card will be replaced with a digital account number that will be securely stored on your Apple devices. Simply hold the device in front of a contactless reader at a participating retailer to make your payment.
Here are step by step directions for setting up your Rivermark card on your device.
How is this more secure?
Only the digital account number is passed on to the retailer. Your payment details including account name and number are never shared with the retailer or seen by the cashier. This reduces the threat of personal data being compromised. If your device is ever lost or stolen, you will not need to cancel the cards attached to your Apple Pay account. You simply reset your digital account number, which can be done quickly and easily.
What merchants accept Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is currently accepted at hundreds of thousands of stores (and growing!) and in select iPhone apps. Major merchants include McDonalds, Whole Foods, Walgreens, Staples, Subway and more.
Is Apple Pay free to use?
Yes, but messaging and data rates may apply depending on your plan. Check with your carrier for details. You do not need to be connected to the internet to use Apple Pay in-store.
When I get a new card will I need to update it in Apple Pay?
Yes, anytime you get a new or updated card you’ll need to re-enter the information into Passbook & Apple Pay. This includes all reissued or replacement cards.
As with any new service, we want to make sure we are offering our members the best possible experience. Please contact us should you have any questions.
