Improving the lives of children is something Rivermark as an organization is passionate about. Last fall we partnered with The Children’s Book Bank, a local organization that improves the literacy skills of low-income children by providing them with reading books. Rivermark held an on-site book drive, collecting books to donate to the organization and providing the internal departments with some “friendly competition”. The drive was a huge success thanks to the employees and members who donated. Rivermark also donated $2,500 to help in acquiring new books for the organization.
Last week two Rivermark representatives were invited to Rosa Parks Elementary School to help distribute the books to children. Each student received 8 books to help keep them up on their reading over the summer and to aid them in building their own home library. There were lots of laughs and smiles as the kids picked out their favorite stories.
The coming fall Rivermark will again be supporting the Children’s Book Bank. Stay tuned for details on how you can help this worthy organization.
