Juntos Avanzamos Designation

At Rivermark Community Credit Union, we believe everyone deserves access to financial tools, trusted guidance, and opportunities to build a stronger future. That is why we are proud to announce that Rivermark has earned the Juntos Avanzamos designation, a national recognition of credit unions committed to serving and empowering Hispanic and immigrant communities.

“Juntos Avanzamos” translates to “Together We Advance.” The name reflects a belief that has long guided our work: When financial services are accessible, welcoming, and designed around the needs of the community, we can all move forward together.

What is the Juntos Avanzamos Designation

Juntos Avanzamos is a national designation awarded to credit unions that demonstrate a meaningful commitment to Hispanic and immigrant communities. It recognizes financial institutions working to expand access to affordable financial services while building trust, inclusion, and a sense of belonging. Rivermark now joins a network of more than 167 designated credit unions across 34 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.

For our members, the designation provides independent recognition of work Rivermark has pursued for years. It also connects us with a national network of credit unions where we can share ideas, learn from proven practices, and continue improving how we serve our communities.

What this Means for Rivermark Members

Earning the Juntos Avanzamos designation required Rivermark to demonstrate that our products, services, and support channels are accessible to a broad range of community members.

Our efforts include:

  • Accepting alternative forms of identification, including Matrícula Consular cards

  • Offering eligible products and services for people who use an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITIN

  • Providing Spanish-language assistance in our branches and through the contact center, chat, video banking, and video tellers

  • Employing Spanish-speaking team members throughout Rivermark

  • Making interpreter services available when members need additional language support

  • Supporting bilingual financial empowerment programs that help people strengthen their financial knowledge and confidence

These resources are designed to help more members manage their money, access responsible financial products, and receive support in the language and format that works best for them.

Recognition of a Long-Term Commitment

The Juntos Avanzamos designation is an important milestone, but it is not the finish line. It creates a strong foundation for Rivermark to continue investing in more accessible products, community partnerships, and services that remove barriers to financial opportunity.

Rivermark’s approach is rooted in the credit union principle of people helping people. As a member-owned financial cooperative, Rivermark works to return value to members through helpful financial solutions, trusted relationships, community investment, and guidance delivered with heart.

“This is a big deal and an important milestone for Rivermark, as fewer than 200 of the approximately 4,000 credit unions across the country hold this designation,” said Jason Werts, President and CEO of Rivermark Community Credit Union.

The designation process was supported by Wooden Consulting and Coopera, organizations that help financial institutions better serve multicultural communities. Their partnership, guidance, and expertise helped Rivermark complete the certification journey.

Moving Forward Together

This recognition belongs to our entire community. It reflects the dedication of Rivermark employees, the trust our members place in their credit union, and the contributions of community organizations working to create greater financial access across Oregon and Southwest Washington.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are also looking ahead. Rivermark will continue listening, learning, and finding new ways to reach people who have traditionally encountered barriers within the financial system.

Because advancing together means ensuring more people have the tools, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.
