Overdraft Protection
Mistakes happen. That’s why we recommend that all members take advantage of overdraft protection. You can select the Rivermark Savings or Visa you would like us to access in the event of an overdraft. Here’s an example:
1. Transfer from Savings
First, we check your Savings (or other deposit accounts) to see if funds are available to transfer. If so, the transfer is made for $5.
2. Advance from Visa
Next, we check your Visa. If funds are available, we advance the money to your Checking with no fee (interest will accrue until the advance, plus interest is paid).
3. Courtesy Pay
Finally, your Checking Account comes with Courtesy Pay. If funds are not available to transfer, a $30 fee applies for each overdraft transaction. We may pay items up to your overdraft limit ($600 - $800 depending on your account type and qualifications).
